Heung-Min Son to join for military service if Premier League postpones due to Coronavirus

Heung-Ming Son set to join military service in his native land if the Premier League postpones further in England due to the Coronavirus.

South Korean International Heung Min Son is reported to join military service for four weeks if the Premier League delays further amidst the Coronavirus scare in the world.

Son was exempted from participating in the mandatory 21-month long military service in his country after he won the Gold medal with South Korea in the Asian Games.

However, according to the SkySports, he still has to go for needs to complete a four-week service and that could begin if the Premier League confirms the season is suspended beyond April 30.

All professional leagues in England were suspended until at least April 30, after seeing a sharp rise in the number of Coronavirus cases in the country.

But with the problem still being at the peak, it is possible that the Premier League’s postponement might be further extended. The league chiefs have agreed with English Football League (EFL) counterparts and player representatives will start once everything is safe to resume.

Son was given permission by Spurs to return to South Korea for “personal reasons” last weekend as he recovers from a fractured arm he suffered during their 3-2 win against Aston Villa in February.

The fate of the Premier League is still unknown as the English FA has not declared whether it would call the season void or would resume once the problem slows down in the country.

Tottenham Hotspur would be benefitted if the league is called off from here and be declared void, as they are far from qualifying for the Champions League.

Therefore, the North London club would want things to start from scratch, giving them and Jose Mourinho a chance in achieving glory they are waiting.
