AB de Villiers reveals that one attribute that makes him one of the best

AB de Villiers has never gone on record to acknowledge the skills that he possesses, always being mellow with his comments, and soaking in all the appreciation without making too much of a fuss about it. But in a recent candid interview, AB de Villiers has gone out and said that he realises what sets him apart from other players.

In an interview with Forbes India, ABD spoke about his ability to win a game from any situation an attribute that sets him apart from the rest.

“That’s probably my biggest strength. I don’t think everyone has those skills. But I won’t say I am the best player in the world. That will be disrespectful to players who are in amazing form like a David Warner or Virat Kohli or Joe Root  who’s not even at the IPL, Ben Stokes–who scored a fabulous hundred for Rising Pune Supergiant. There are so many good players it will be disrespectful to say I am the best player in the world. But I do have certain skills that others don’t and others have certain skills that I don’t.”

Even while talking about his strengths, ABD refrained from labelling himself as the best of this generation, as according to him different batsmen have different strengths. His humility, simplicity and in human batting skills are what make him such a fan favourite.

After a disappointing IPL season, ABD is back with his national squad, training for the England tour and for the subsequent Champions Trophy. He has vowed to come back stronger to India next year for the IPL season, and give the fans a lot to cheer about with his performances on the cricket field.
