The ICC raises security concerns over the Champions Trophy

There is a famous saying which says, “Terrorists Sell Fear.” Yes, they sell a raw fear that men cannot withstand. The terrorist attack in Manchester was really heart breaking and horrible as it affected the lives of so many innocent people. Just now the telegraph aired a clipping that the suicide bomber has killed over 22 people including a child while over 59 people got injured. Such actions have created an issue which is why, the ICC raises security concerns over the Champions Trophy.

As this terrorist attack occurred in England, there are some security concerns over the Champions trophy which is about to start next week. ICC said that it will look into the safety and security of all the teams participating in the Champions Trophy.

According to the reports,the ICC is concerned with what has happened in Manchester and, therefore, they will conduct a emergency meeting today in order to discuss the security of the tournament after this deadly attack in Manchester.

London, Birmingham and Cardiff are the three venues which will host Champions Trophy matches. Many people feel that the organising such a big tournament, with 8 countries participating, just a week after this horrible attack is really challenging for The ICC.

The ICC said, “The ICC will hold a meeting later in the day to address the issue in the wake of the terror attack in Manchester,”

“The ICC is concerned with what has happened in Manchester and will have a conference call later in the day with stakeholders joining from various places. How and what happens will be conveyed to all the participating teams.”

Indian cricket team will be there by the 25^th, which is why the BCCI has also called for an emergency meeting. The meeting has been called for taking a stock of the security situation in England ahead of the Champions trophy. After all, the security of a national cricket team which represents 1.25 billion people is really mandatory after this kind of attack in the same country.

So ahead of Champions trophy, we hope that 18 days of Champions trophy will be played out peacefully.
