Daniel Ricciardo crash: Renault driver crashes out of FP2; limps out of the car
Daniel Ricciardo crash was one of the highlights of the FP2 session in the ongoing Styrian GP; but he has been deemed fit to drive.
The Styrian GP has not started well for Daniel Ricciardo, with him limping out of his car. The former Toro Rosso and Red Bull driver lost control of his Renault and hit the barriers hard.

As Ricciardo was going for a fast right-hander, he did not leave the throttle and went a little too hard, losing control of the rear end of his car.
He thus crashed into the barriers and was forced to limp out of his career. Initially there were fears he might have done some damage to his leg, however those have been appeased.

Daniel Ricciardo has been declared fit
According to latest updates, Ricciardo is fit to race at the weekend. This will be a big boost for the French outfit, who have been not too impressive this season.

He has been checked over at the medical centre and has been passed FIT following that high-speed crash earlier on in FP2

To improve their chances next season, Renault have roped in former champion Spaniard Fernando Alonso to replace Ricciardo. Alonso will partner Esteban Ocon in the 2021 season.
Daniel Riccairdo will move to Renault’s current engine client McLaren, replacing Carlos Sainz. The latter will replace multi-time champion Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari.

Renault will let go of McLaren next season, with the latter deciding to partner with Mercedes again. McLaren and Mercedes had a very strong partnership last time round.
The second Practice Session underway
The second FP is underway following the red flag caused by Ricciardo’s crash. This session could be really crucial for the teams as thunderstorms are expected tomorrow. If it happens, then the FP3 and the qualifying session could be in jeopardy.
This is the double header at Austria, with the race known as the Styrian Grand Prix. The final race will be held on Sunday afternoon at the Red Bull Ring.
