MVP explains why he is the new WWE United States Champion
MVP was scheduled to face Apollo Crews but with the no-show by the latter, the challenger believes he is now the rightful WWE United States Champion.
The Horror Show at Extreme Rules was one of the best pay-per-view produced by the WWE this year. Bar one, every match on the card was brilliant only somewhat brought down a notch due to screwy finishes. The only match that truly disappointed was one that never even began to start with.

Apollo Crews was scheduled to defend his United States Championship against MVP at Extreme Rules. However, with Crews failing to clear his medical, the match was called off. MVP then walked away with the new United States title and declared himself the new Champion.

Some people were left wondering if a title change had occurred or not. However, MVP is adamant that he is the new champion and even offered an explanation as why to that is during his appearance on Booker T’s Hall Of Fame podcast.
MVP explains why he is the new WWE United States Champion
“It was grueling, it was demanding, but I gave it my all and I was able to walk away the champ,” MVP told Booker-T. “Possession is nine-tenths of the law, right? Apollo signed the contract to have a match and he was unable to show up. He violates that contract; therefore, he forfeited his right to call himself United States Champion.”
While MVP makes a compelling argument, it remains to be seen how the WWE deals with this. A no show usually sees the opponent pick the victory. However, under WWE’s Champion advantages, the title usually, does not change hands without a tapout or pinfall inside the ring.
