The WWE will now tread that path once again, as was revealed on the latest episode of SmackDown. The former Intercontinental Champion is a much better and more seasoned performer than he was during his last run as a singles wrestler.
WWE’s original plans for Big E revealed
The WWE Universe will finally witness Big E as a solo performer. However, according to Ringside news, Vince McMahon has long desired a singles run for him. There were backstage plans for him to turn heel. However, that wouldn’t necessary separate him from his faction mates.
Big E has played a heel in the past and has done so efficiently before. He was Dolph Ziggler’s bodyguard before and made for a believable villain. In fact, he was also a heel in the early days of the New Day before their antics finally won the crowd over.
Big E is getting a chance to work on his own on SD for 6 weeks, but we’ve been told the idea for a singles run for E has been in Vince McMahon’s mind for a while. They actually scheduled a heel turn for Big E last year, but obviously, they didn’t follow through with it. Thoughts?

For whatever reason the WWE did not pull the trigger though. As evident from what happened last week, they have opted against turning him heel. His solo run will also come without breaking the group, which means, in case the move doesn’t turn out as planned they can always get back together and continue to do what they do best.
