Alvin Gentry Contract
Alvin Gentry, the 65-year-old head coach. still has one year left on his contract. He has been the headcoach for the Pelicans since 2015. After they returned from the bubble, the Pelicans management has been pretty swift in making this move. We can expect official confirmation of this news from the team management over the weekend or during the next week.
Despite going into the bubble with an injury plauged team, Alvin takes most of the blame for not qualifiying. They returned home after they lost 133-127 to Orlando Magic last night.
Pelicans Perfomance in the Bubble
This was not the restart the Pelicans were hoping for, despite having quite a few injury concerns. They have a 6-2 record in the Bubble, winning only against the Grizzlies and the Wizards. They needed atleast 2 more wins to qualify for the playoffs or even have a chance at the play-in stage.
