WWE ThunderDome: The Virtual Interactive Experience That Will Leapfrog NBA's Attempt At Virtual Fans

WWE ThunderDome: The WWE universe is set to again become a part of the live events and Pay-Per-View shows. WWE promises to provide a virtual interactive experience to its fans, and has labelled it as ThunderDome.

This week’s SmackDown will be different from the ones we have been experiencing since the Pandemic laid weight on the world, as the Friday night show will shift to Orlando, FL’s Amway Center from the contingent Performance Center.

With the new venue, WWE intends to go the NBA way and promises to provide a Virtual experience of all the action to fans, who will again be able to shout the names of their favorite WWE superstars and cheer for them again.

WWE ThunderDome: WWE Plans to Provide Virtual Interactive Experience To Fans

According to WWE Executive Vice President Kevin Dunn, WWE would leapfrog NBA and would create a “arena-type experience”. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Dunn disclosed the plans of the promotion to build a WrestleMania level spectacle with the new setup. Dunn said “We won’t have a flat board, we’ll have rows and rows and rows of fans. We’ll have almost 1,000 LED boards, and it will recreate the arena experience you’re used to seeing with WWE. The atmosphere will be night and day from the Performance Center.”

“This is going to let us have a WrestleMania-level production value, and that’s what our audience expects from us,” Dunn added. “We are also going to put arena audio into the broadcast, similar to baseball. But our audio will be mixed with the virtual fans. So when fans start chants, we’ll hear them.”
