Damian Lillard injury update: Blazers star suffers dislocated finger vs Lakers in Game 2
Adding injury to insult, Damian Lillard went off court after injuring his finger in a loose ball collision in Game 2 of the series against the LA Lakers.
Damian Lillard suffered an injury to his left index finger trying to reach into Anthony Davis’s handle late in the 3rd quarter of Game 2 against the LA Lakers. The All-NBA guard had an immediate reaction to the play, throwing his hand around in despair. He was seemingly trying to get his joint back in place from an apparent dislocation.
Damian Lillard injury update: Dislocated finger
The Trail Blazers conducted an X-ray immediately after he left the court and headed to the locker room. It transpired that Lillard mercifully did not suffer a fracture, but his index finger did get dislocated. He will not return to the game.

The Blazers were trailing the game at 55-85 with the game clock at 1:45 left in the 3rd quarter when this incident took place. There was precious little chance of them winning the game even if nothing had happened to Lillard. They will probably be thankful for the extended rest.
Lillard did not shoot well on the night. His team never had the lead during the game, and he was unable to impact the game on either end. The injury Lillard suffered was the result of a frustration play with little chances of success. The Blazers will be glad, however, to have dodged a bullet in the form of injury to their best player.
