Mick Schumacher F2 Win: German racer bags maiden F2 feature race win at Monza after spectacular display
Mick Schumacher F2 win: German racer wins F2 race at Monza after a spectacular performance, taking him 3rd in F2 Championship table.
Mick Schumacher, the heir of legendary Michael Schumacher has once again claimed his worth in the sport as he secured his feature race win at Monza in F2.
The 21-year-old German racer started the race at P7, but after a qualifying crash, but a magnificent getaway resulted in him being second by the exit of the first chicane behind Ferrari stablemate Callum Ilott.
Virtuosi Racing’s Ilott resisted early pressure by Schumacher and was early until the pair entered into the pitstop phase. The pause in Ilot’s run enabled Schumacher to take on a significant lead through the unconventional strategy.
This is Schumacher’s second F2 win in his career adding to his triumph from reversed grid pole in the Hungaroring sprint race last year. His follow-up success lifts him to third in the 2020 standings.

Mick Schumacher F2 Win- Gateway to Formula 1
As Nico Hulkenberg rightly mentioned that it is just a matter of time before Mick Schumacher enters Formula 1. It is profoundly likely that he will be featuring for Alfa Romeo next season.
Kimi Raikkonen will probably take an exit from Formula 1 next season, keeping the seat at Ferrari’s sister team vacant. Considering Schumacher’s performances for Prema.
The Italian team might promote Schumacher to Alfa Romeo as the young prodigy is enrolled under Ferrari’s academy. Though he has stiff competition with Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman who are currently at 1st and 2nd position in F2 championship table respectively.

Meanwhile, Schumacher’s current win brings him to the 3rd position in the table, the gap between three drivers is just 3 points. Thus, the F2 championship table will probably tell who is more likely to get a promotion next year.
