Eoin Morgan run-out vs Australia: Watch English captain’s exceptional fielding dismisses Steve Smith
Eoin Morgan run-out vs Australia: The English captain put on display an outstanding fielding effort to send back the Australian batsman.
During the second T20I of the ongoing Australia’s tour of England in Southampton, England captain Eoin Morgan put on display an outstanding fielding effort to dismiss Australia batsman Steve Smith.
It all happened on the last delivery of the fifth over when Smith dabbed a Tom Curran delivery on the leg-side to sneak a quick single. Morgan, who was fielding at short mid-wicket, was swift on his feet to collect the ball cleanly and release it quickly towards the non-striker’s end.
With only a stump to aim, Morgan’s quick reflex work yielded output for England as Smith was comfortably short of his crease. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the second over, Smith departed after scoring 10 (7) with the help of one four and six each.
With Australia already losing two wickets in the first two overs, Morgan’s exceptional fielding further put the visitors on the back-foot.
It is worth mentioning that it was Australia captain Aaron Finch who had earlier won the toss and chose to bat. Both the teams have fielded the same XI from the last match.
With Finch and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis playing in the middle, Australia require them to stitch a game-changing partnership to remain in the series.
