Is JaVale McGee leaving the Lakers? LeBron James and co. would be worried as McGee sells $2.49 million LA Mansion
Signs point that JaVale McGee might opt-out of his player option with the Lakers, as the big man sells his LA Mansion.
JaVale McGee is a 3x NBA Champion. He won his 3rd ring recently with the Lakers, and now he might be planning to move on.
JaVale joined the Lakers back in 2018, a little after LeBron made his move to LA. McGee was an important part of the 2019-20 Lakers. He started every regular-season game he played, but he started to fall out of the rotation late in the playoffs. Coach Vogel did not include the big man in the Finals at all.

What does McGee’s move mean to the Lakers?
JaVale McGee is technically still on contract with the Lakers. He has a player option this season, and people believe he might use it, and him selling his mansion makes that point seem stronger now.
Some believe that JaVale might be doing this to get a better contract from the Lakers, who can pay him more using the Bird exception.
Others believe that McGee might move to some other competitive destination where he can get more minutes and he can have another shot at championship contention.
In case McGee decides to leave the Lakers, there would be a few suitors ready to offer him deals. On the top of that list might be Golden State, who are constantly on the lookout for a dominating presence in the paint.
Houston Rockets might also show their interest, if the big decides to be available.
