Grease Cremer raises concerns over Stumping decision
Zimbabwe’s skipper Greame Cremer expressed his disappointment over a controversial decision made by the third umpire after losing a test match against Sri Lanka.
After a historic ODI series win against the host nation Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe started the one-off test with lot of intent. After electing to bat first, the visitors put on a fight and earned lead of 10 runs in the first innings.
Banking on the late resurgence of the middle and lower order Zimbabwe posted a decent target of 388.
While chasing the target Sri Lanka struggled to get consistent partnerships and were in a deep trouble at 203/5 after losing two overnight batsmen on the morning of the final day.

Asela Gunaratne joined Dickwella and both of them looked in good touch and slowly transferred the pressure back onto the visitors by scoring quickly.
When the wicket keeper batsmen was on 37, third umpire Chettithody Shamshuddin was called upon for a Stumping referral by Ian Gould (on field umpire).
Shamshuddin adjudged it as not-out despite of the fact that numerous camera angles showing the foot was on the line.
Notably Dickwella went onto score 81 and eventually it turned to be match winning contribution for the hosts.
“From what I saw, I honestly didn’t see any doubt why it should be not out, but it’s just one of those things, I suppose you have technology and it clearly shows … it’s tough when those things go against you when you are trying to win a Test match on the last day,” said Cremer who took nine wickets in the test match.
He continued saying that he is proud of the intent shown by his team while playing a better side on their home turf.
None the less, without much test experience Zimbabweans must be praised with the way they played and took the match down to the wire.
However, the decision made by Shamshuddin was severely criticized by the cricketing fans across the globe as it played a vital role in the outcome of the match
