“Big bosses of Formula 1 just arrive later and leave earlier”- Max Verstappen objects hierarchy’s disregard for the crew staff amidst prolonged schedule.

Formula 1 is set to extend their calendar for the next year, with the governing body planning to organize 23 races in 2021. However, there has been a subtle dissent towards the idea, with many speaking their honest opinions on it.

Most of the words spoken by the drivers or team principals are that they think of it as an exhausting calendar, with several double or triple headers burning them out.

Max Verstappen is also among them and has complained that in the en, the people working on the track will face the brunt while the bosses will be able to leave early.

“I’m not a fan of so many races”, he says on Formel1.de. The Dutchman thinks mainly of the mechanics. “In the end it is they who suffer, while the big bosses of Formula 1 just arrive later and leave earlier. In principle not much changes for them”, says Verstappen.

In the following year, there are possibilities that there would be multiple double or triple headers or maybe two race weekends like in Imola to accommodate 23 races.

“If you add more races, but take a day off, it’s still more than you would normally do,” says Verstappen. “But if you keep the same schedule as with fewer races, it’s almost impossible”.

Return of old tracks

With the 2020 calendar witnessing the return of older tracks, the fans have apparently enjoyed the level of racing over there. Hence, Formula 1 has decided to bring back few tracks into the 2021 calendar.

Moreover, it might also see the exclusion of some present F1 circuits, for example, Brazil might not see an F1 race at Interlagos in 2021, though it was counted to be one of the brilliant most tracks.
