‘Kawhi Leonard has asked Chris Paul to join the Clippers’: OKC Thunder star tipped to join LeBron James’ city rivals
Sources reveal that Kawhi Leonard reached out to Chris Paul about joining the Clippers.
This entire offseason we’ve heard rumors about Chris Paul to Los Angeles, but now there is another turn there. Along with the numerous reports of a ‘Paul trade’ to the Lakers, there are now reports that CP3 might be interested to go back to the Clippers.
Chris Paul was already a big name star when the Hornets sent him to the Clippers in a 3 team trade. There he put the Clippers ‘on the map’, as per Blake Griffin, CP3’s former Clipper teammate.
Paul turned the franchise around and made them a team that did not miss the playoffs even once in his tenure. Not only did he elevate the Clippers, but he also helped Blake Griffin become a solid player during his time there.
Kawhi Leonard wants Chris Paul back with the Clippers
According to sources, Kawhi Leonard, now the face of the Clippers, has reached out to Paul. It is believed that the Klaw wants CP3 to come back to the Clippers.
And it makes sense for both parties, as Clippers are in desperate need of a point-guard and CP3 is looking to move to a team with championship pedigree.
In the playoffs, it was evident that the Clippers were missing a solid point-guard and they don’t come better than Chris Paul himself. CP3 too would love a re-union and the chance of teaming up with Kawhi Leonard.

The Clippers have a $16 million luxury cap space, and whatever they offer to OKC as an exchange for CP3 might actually work out and not be a bad deal for either team. The only thing is whether OKC agrees to a deal or not. They are in their rebuilding process and have been looking to acquire young talents who can steer the future of their franchise.
As long as the Clippers can provide a lucrative enough deal, there is little to no reason why we cant see Chris Paul back in a Clippers jersey.
