“Of course I use some of my father’s tips”- Mick Schumacher talks about how his father mentoring him throughout his formative years.

Mick Schumacher is obviously born with a silver spoon and a father who was once the most decorated driver in Formula 1, it can be seen that the young German F2 driver is rightfully using his resources.

While much is unknown about his formative years, as during his childhood he even used to have a pseudonym for his karting competitions to avoid unwanted attention.

But the aspiring F1 driver has now talked about his father’s role in his budding years and how his mentorship shaped him into a talented driver, with Ferrari eager to make him ready for future.

“Of course I use some of my father’s tips – even from my karting days,” says Schumacher to the German branch of RTL. However, he emphasised that the cars back when his father used to be an F1 driver are much different now.

“At the same time, we are obviously different people and had different experiences in the junior classes. And you have to drive the cars differently today too,” said the 21-year-old driver, who pointed out what is different. ”

We have a Formula 2 car that weighs 780 kilos, the cars back then weighed 500 kilos. But nevertheless, of course, there are some similarities.”

Realising the magnitude of his success with every passing day

With Mick speculated to join Haas next year, he is realising how much his father has given to the sport as confessed by him. While he also his father’s title-winning F2004 at Imola this year, maybe giving a sense of his glory.

“What he did was extraordinary. I realise that more and more every day,” he said. Schumacher presently is at the top of the F2 table, with the last two races yet to go.
