“That moment wasn’t for us”- Booker T explains why the legends didn’t speak at Undertaker’s farewell
Booker T explains why the legends didn’t speak at Undertaker’s farewell. The WWE celebrated 30 years of the Undertaker at this year’s Survivor Series.
The Undertaker is the longest tenured wrestler in the WWE. He is regarded by many as the greatest ever wrestler and the WWE decided to honor him with a farewell on Survivor Series, exactly 30 years to the day he made his first appearance in the WWE on the very same event.

Several legends including his BSK friends made an appearance on the show. They all made their way to the stage one by one before Vince McMahon introduced the Undertaker. The Deadman then reflected on his career and said his goodbye.
Touching as it was, many wondered what was the point of calling all those legends on stage if none of them were going to talk or do anything. Hall of Famer Booker T spoke on the matter on his Hall of Fame podcast.
Booker T explains why the legends didn’t speak at Undertaker’s farewell
“We were just there to be there for that moment and to be there for the Undertaker,” Booker T said. “That moment wasn’t for us – it was for the Undertaker. It was his moment. Anything we would’ve said would’ve overshadowed what he said because we know the Undertaker, and he was never a guy that was gonna talk a whole lot. One thing you don’t want to do is give a bunch of old wrestlers a microphone. We’d have been out there all night.”
The event was attended by Kane, Triple H, Shane McMahon, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, Big Show, JBL, Mick Foley, The Godfather, Savio Vega, Rikishi, Kevin Nash, and The Godwinns. Fans expected something big considering the names on the stage and the heavy advertisement of the farewell,
In the end, it all came to naught. It was as if they weren’t there to begin it and while Booker T’s explanation makes some sense, it still feels like much more could have been done on the occasion.
