‘Clippers looking to sign Spurs star’: One move that could help LA rivals compete with LeBron James and Lakers

There is a possible scenario where the Los Angeles Clippers can find a way to go head to head with the Lakers.

The 2019-20 season, when it started was chalked down as a battle of Los Angeles. Even before the season started, the people called the Lakers and Clippers as the teams to beat.

It looked like the duel would be a worthy battle. I mean, why wouldn’t it. LeBron James vs Kawhi Leonard. Anthony Davis vs Paul George. Frank Vogel vs Doc Rivers. Rajon Rondo leading the Lakers bench vs Lou Williams leading the Clippers bench.

Unfortunately, the Clippers disappointed everyone in the Bubble. They still have a chance at redemption this year. They may have lost the 6th man of the year Montrezl Harrell, but they added Serge Ibaka. They still can come out on top if they make this one long-shot trade.

A possible big 3 at the Clippers?

The Los Angeles Clippers can make a trade for LeMarcus Aldridge, which can give them a big 3 capable enough to take on just about anybody in the league. The Spurs are due for a rebuild, and if they decide to do so, they would want to move the 36 y/o LeMarcus Aldridge. In returns, the Clippers can send their center Ivica Zubac, Patrick Beverley, and a young player/draft pick which could suit the Spurs rebuild.

The Clippers in return get a proven center who can generate offense with his post plays/deep shots. LeMarcus averaged 18.9 PPG and 7.4 RPG on 49.3% shooting last season. There is no reason why he wouldn’t be a threat as the third scoring option on the Clippers. He would take the load off PG and Kawhi’s shoulders.

Kawhi and PG would be looking to having a redemption season and this move would boost their chances of doing so by a lot. While this is all hypothetical right now, we hope something of the sort actually pans out.
