Silverstone tributes 7 time World Champion Lewis Hamilton by renaming pit straight
Silverstone honours 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton by naming the pit straight after him followed by his exemplary record.
Lewis Hamilton has a decorated past n Formula 1 which makes him arguably the greatest driver in the sport of all time. To honour this Silverstone has decided to rename its pit-straight after his.
The announcement was made on Saturday, and it is going to be the first part of the circuit which is going to be named. Certainly, his legacy propelled the authorities to acknowledge his contribution.
Silverstone has renamed the stretch of track that includes the start/finish line after Lewis Hamilton. It’s the only part of the circuit ever to be named after a driver.

“I was delighted, in my capacity as President of the BRDC, to share this news with Lewis today,” said Coulthard. “It is the first time in Silverstone’s history that a part of the circuit has been named after any individual.
“Lewis has become a huge part of this history, and the directors of the Club and I felt there was no better way to mark this than to re-name the iconic pits straight in recognition of his record-breaking achievements.”
Silverstone helped him in winning the championship
Hamilton dominated the British Grand Prix at the start of the season which was helped in Bangalore, though, he had to bow down in front of Max Verstappen’s performance during the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix.
Two podiums in the same two consecutive races helped Hamilton to have a significant gap against letters. Hamilton won the British Grand Prix after a dramatic tyre failure on the final lap, leaving him to cross the line on three wheels.
However, Hamilton has managed to win multiple times this season that this might just serve another crown to his already illustrious content on the internet.
