Why is Chris Lynn not playing today’s BBL 2020-21 match vs Adelaide Strikers?
Chris Lynn not playing: The captain of Brisbane Heat hasn’t taken the field in their first home match at the Gabba.

What followed after the bat flip was an unusual situation as Lynn injured himself during warm-ups after the bat flip. Attempting to grab a high catch whilst running backwards, the 30-year old player hurt his hamstring to the extent that he ended up being ruled out of the match.
In a rare situation, Heat were allowed to replace Lynn after the bat flip. The same was disclosed by Heat coach Darren Lehmann who received consent from Strikers coach and former Australia teammate Jason Gillespie.
While all-rounder Simon Milenko has been included into the Playing as Lynn’s replacement, wicket-keeper batsman Jimmy Peirson is leading Brisbane tonight.

With Adelaide Strikers captain Alex Carey also missing this match due to his involvement in an Australia A match in Sydney, veteran pacer Peter Siddle has once been asked to lead the Strikers.
“To be honest, I don’t think I enjoyed it [captaincy in season opener] as much as just playing. I had to concentrate too much in between overs. I didn’t have as much fun. But obviously it’s a privilege to captain,” Siddle was quoted as saying by Fox Sports before the match.
