“We’re getting divorced”: Magic star Nikola Vucevic sarcastically comments on his wife calling Star Wars’ Yoda a frog
Nikola Vucevic takes to Twitter jokingly call out his wife for calling Yoda from Star Wars a frog.
Star Wars is perhaps the most beloved franchise in all of cinema. Everything from the story arcs to the iconic one-liners in over 40 years of Star Wars lore has enamoured generations.
One NBA player who is an avid Star Wars enthusiast is the Orlando Magic’s Nikola Vuceic. He has been very active these past few years on social media, about his opinions concerning the newest Star Wars trilogy.
Teammate Evan Fournier is also quite engrossed in the Star Wars mythos. They both posted about how much excited they were about the release of the Rise of Skywalker.
So with all this in mind, it makes sense that Vucevic would be disappointed that his wife unintentionally took shots at one of the most beloved characters in all of Star Wars.
Nikola Vucevic isn’t happy about his wife calling Yoda a frog.
Star Wars are very protective of the characters that build that universe. Nikola Vucevic’s wife found this out the hard way. Nikola recalls the time when his wife asked their son, “Where’s the frog?” in reference to Yoda, as he wasn’t on the Star Wars themes bedsheet their son had.
My son has a Star Wars crib sheet and my wife asked him “where is the frog” while pointing at Yoda and now we’re divorced
— Nikola Vucevic (@NikolaVucevic) December 22, 2020
For Star Wars fans, this is wildly disrespectful comment. Vucevic reacted as any other diehard fan would: he called for an immediate divorce. This was obviously a light-hearted jab the Magic forward took at his wife, and should be treated as such.
Will the Magic’s newest contract extensions pay off?
The Magic were recently in the news because they decided to extend Markelle Fultz and Jonathan Isaac for 3 and 4 years, respectively. This move was deemed foolish by a majority of people, including the likes of Chris Vernon. They all said that neither of these players have proven enough to be worth a contract extension.
Isaac is still recovering from a torn ACL while Fultz has shown mere flashes of what he can be. It will be a while till either of these contracts start to make sense.
