“Paul George may have been inspired by Lakers mascot Jared Dudley”: Skip Bayless hints that Clippers star was indignant to not be considered on LeBron James’ level
Paul George went OFF in Cleveland for the Clippers last night, and FS1 Undisputed host Skip Bayless seems to think it had something to do with Jared Dudley.
The Clippers bounced back from a narrow loss to the Nets on Tuesday with a blowout of the Cavs. PG-13 was in his element, getting 36 points on just 20 shots. George made 8 of his 9 3-point attempts on the night, which meant the Clippers were always in control.
This game came in the backdrop of the release of Jared Dudley’s book on the NBA bubble. The Lakers forward, who’s basically the last member of their rotation, was highly critical of George. Dudley wrote that the Lakers were pissed off by PG’s suggestion that he was on the level of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
It was an easy win for the Clippers on the night, all said and done. They built a double-digit lead in the 3rd quarter, which they consolidated in the 4th. The Clippers shot 55.7% from the field and 58.8% on 3-pointers, powered mainly by Kawhi and PG.
‘Paul George was inspired by Jared Dudley’: Skip Bayless
The post-game reactions for this outing were all centered around Jared Dudley and his book. Skip Bayless was no different, as he talked about Paul George’s great shooting night:
“Playoff P crazy hot from three in Cleveland, maybe inspired by the literary shot taken at him by Lakers mascot Jared Dudley.”

Skip Bayless has been one of the biggest and most vocal Paul George critics. Despite backing the Clippers for the title last season, he’s maintained the ‘George Paul’ moniker. He was ultimately let down by his team’s terrible effort against the Nuggets, but mainly because PG-13 went missing.
This is a chance at redemption for the other Los Angeles team. If they managed to build chemistry and a successful crunch-time offense, they would be the biggest threat to the Lakers out west.
