‘It’s just a little harder when it’s about you specifically’: Chase Hooper expresses disappointment with Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier’s commentary

Chase Hooper, who came out as one of the victors of the year’s last Pay-Per-View has expressed disappointment with Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier’s commentary.

The duo of Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier when combines with Jon Anik then together they form an A-Team of broadcasting in UFC. Cormier is a former world champion, and Rogan has a massive following in and outside the sport. However, at times they go candid on the mic, and hence often receive harsh reviews from fighters, who become the subject of their live commentary.

Chase Hooper, who won his bout against Peter Barrett at UFC 256, has a put forth a supposed grievance against the culminated event’s commentators, Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier.

“It’s brutal to hear these people that you kind of idolize a little bit sh*tting all over you. It’s hard to deal with. Some points were valid, but I just feel like it was a little more accentuated than it needed to be. Obviously, I know I need to work on my striking, and I’m getting that situated. I’m gonna go to Thailand and get the work in that I need.”

Hooper added, “I heard they were pretty brutal the whole night, overall. It’s just a little harder when it’s about you specifically.” (Source- MMA Fighting)

Commentary is a vital part of every sport, and thus, not just in UFC, in every field opinions are formed and conveyed out loud. It is a way to declutter the action which is in focus.

So, in a sport like MMA, where there are only two single participants, and moreover there exists a certain probability that one would win and the other will lose, the in-ring doings of both individuals are carefully examined by commentators, and since in this case the individuals (Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier) involved have years of experience behind them, therefore, they apparently pointed out the deviations they witnessed.
