“Ja Morant is going to be the next D-Rose”: New angle shows why Grizzlies star had to go off court on a wheelchair with ankle sprain
Ja Morant suffered what looks like a nasty ankle sprain in the Grizzlies’ game against the Nets tonight. He had to go off court on a wheelchair.
The Memphis Grizzlies are already suffering significantly from the injury bug. Jaren Jackson Jr suffered a torn meniscus in the NBA bubble that he’s still nursing. They also have Jontay Porter, Killian Tillie, Xavier Tillman, De’Anthony Melton and Justise Winslow out.
Ja Morant joined them on the treatment table tonight after landing on Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot’s left leg. Ja’s left ankle twisted violently and seemed to give way entirely. He could not put any weight on that foot from that point on, whatsoever.

NBA fans send their get-well messages for Ja Morant
It would not be hyperbole to say that Morant is probably the NBA’s favorite young star. The electrifying guard had a sensational rookie campaign with the Grizzlies, leading them to the play-in game last year. He was expected to take Memphis to the next level this season.
Jaren’s reaction says it all

A few compared his situation with that of Derrick Rose, which sounds like hyperbole. But you can never be too careful about the health of your favorite players.

As neutral fans, we hope that Ja stages a quick and healthy comeback to the court for the Grizzlies. The league could definitely do with a lot more of his exciting play.
