“I have no doubt that the team will be one of the strongest next year”- Sergio Perez’s prediction on his former team
“I have no doubt that the team will be one of the strongest next year”- Sergio Perez tips that his former team will be powerful in 2021.
Racing Point this year showed the real calibre of being one of the top sides in Formula 1, as they finished fourth in the table, while constantly vying with McLaren for the third position.
With Aston Martin joining the franchise, ex-driver Sergio Perez feels that under the charge of Sebastian Vettel, the team will be a threat on the grid.
“I think Seb has definitely taken a great decision,” he said, as reported by Formula 1. “He’s coming to a team of pure racers, to a team where he will definitely have a good time. He will enjoy it, and most importantly, he will have some good fun.”
With different regulations stepping in and different cost-cutting measures being imposed, causing a lack of flexibility in the paddock’s current quality, Perez thinks Aston martin will manage to have a great car.
“I have no doubt that the team will be one of the strongest next years so he will definitely have a fantastic car,” he added.
Rivals smell Mercedes assistance.
This year, Racing Point was dissed for allegedly copying elements of Mercedes’ W10, the rivals of the side are speculating that Mercedes will further assist them.
Hence, bolstering their contention in the current competition. Though, Aston Martin will not be the only side to get any speculated assistance from a superior side.
Haas apparently have been helped by Ferrari to move into Maranello. Despite Ferrari’s assurances that the relationship between the two sides will not change, this mere act is a huge cost-cutting favour.
Moreover, Ferrari has already “loaned” their key engineers to the only American team in the grid. The youngest side in F1 has returned the debt by giving a contract to their academy product Mick Schumacher.
So there is no guarantee over this relationship not getting an extension of favours in the coming times.
