“I always wanted to have a proper fight for the world championship” – Daniil Kvyat makes his aspirations clear for this decade in F1
“I always wanted to have a proper fight for the world championship” – Daniil Kvyat determined to make a comeback to Formula 1 next season after being dropped by AlphaTauri for Yuki Tsunoda.
Daniil Kvyat has been in and out of the Red Bull family number of times, and currently, it is the latter. The Russian is without a drive after being shown the door in favor of Honda-backed Yuki Tsunoda. But this hasn’t lowered the determination of Kvyat to return to F1 and win the world title this decade. With new regulations coming into play in 2022, a lot of things could change in the driver market.
“[Red Bull] needed me [at Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri] for 2019 and 2020. That was my target to try to do a good job for the team in these years and then we would see what the future holds. I feel like I have been doing my best for the team and I think working very well, very happy.
“But, of course, I always wanted to have a proper fight for the world championship as a driver and this is why I will always have more hunger you know, I will always try to come back and have a shot. As my career shows, you can always have a shot if you are in the right place at the right time.
This is how things go sometimes, but I would like to thank everyone in the team for another intense season together. 4/4#F1 #AbuDhabiGP #DK26 pic.twitter.com/KimH4D38o2

“But to fight for the world championship, many things have to fall into the right place at the right time. Regardless, I will always keep pushing, keep trying to do my best.”
