“Kevin Durant went from Splash brothers to Dribble brothers”: Charles Barkley hilariously roasts Brooklyn Nets guards Kyrie Irving and James Harden
Charles Barkley hilariously took shots at both Kyrie Irving and James Harden, calling them the Dribble brothers.
The era of superstar duos had officially dawned upon the NBA, with the collapse of the Golden State Warriors. Star-studded duos such as LeBron James-Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard-Paul George seemed to be taking over the NBA.
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were looking like a formidable duo when on the court at the same time. However, following the blockbuster deal that would send James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets, it seems like the NBA has found its newest big 3.
James Harden on the Nets is an idea that has been floating around for more than two months now. Many believe that the Brooklyn Nets weren’t as aggressive when pursuing Harden early on was due to the ‘fit’ alongside KD and Kyrie.

The Inside the NBA crew didn’t hold back on their thoughts concerning the James Harden trade. Shaq went off on Harden, saying he hasn’t done anything for the city of Houston.
Chuck seemed to take a lighter approach and referenced Kyrie Irving and Harden’s ball dominance in a hilarious roast. He said, “KD went from the Splash Brothers to the Dribble Brothers.”

This is of course Chuck talking and Kevin Durant’s previous team the Golden State Warriors. It is an interesting parallel, when comparing his teammates on GSW and his current teammates in Brooklyn.
Golden State took pride in their unselfish brand of basketball. Superstars like Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were more than willing to defer to KD and play more off-ball. Their lethal shooting from beyond the arc allowed them to do so.
However, now Kevin Durant is surrounded by quite literally the opposite. Two ball dominant superstars who dribble the shot clock away in Kyrie Irving and James Harden will be handling the ball.
Kevin Durant is quoted as saying that he moved to the Bay area because he liked that style of basketball better than the ‘hero-ball’ he had to play in OKC. It seems as though ‘hero-ball’ might be in store for KD on the Nets.
