“Mick is the complete opposite to that guy I think, so I think he will shine”- Jenson Button criticizes Nikita Mazepin with Schumacher comparison.
While praising about Mick Schumacher, Jenson Button who competed against his father for many years, criticized the other Haas driver Nikita Mazepin.
Citing Mazepin’s recent activities, he held a comparative analysis of the two and has showered multiple praises about Schumacher, whose debut excites Button.
“It’s great he is in Formula 1, and he seems like a really nice kid,” Button told PlanetF1. “He’s got an interesting team-mate who has had a lot of negative press, but Mick is the complete opposite to that guy I think, so I think he will shine,” said the 40-year-old Briton.
Would be wanting to follow father’s lead
Last year’s Formula 2 champion has big shoes to fill in, the best part about it is that Mick acknowledges the fact, and showing promising signs about his following days.
“That must have been pretty emotional for him when he learned he actually got the Haas drive. When you are racing, you close the visor on your helmet, and it’s just you, the car and the road, but it must have been very emotional thinking about his dad.
“I’m sure he would have loved to have spoken to him about that moment, but sadly I don’t think that’s possible at this moment in time.” Button concluded.
On the other hand, Ferrari sees a promising prospect in Schumacher and is realistically thinking of giving him a two-year-long trial run with Haas to analyze whether he is ready to make a big move Ferrari.
Apart from talent, Schumacher might turn out to be a marketing asset to Ferrari, as his familial legacy is enough to back his appeal among the F1 following masses.
