“I’d trade me for James Harden”: Jarrett Allen hilariously suggests that Nets did the right thing by trading him away from Kevin Durant and co
Jarrett Allen has taken his trade away from Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets as well as anyone could hope for under the circumstances.
Once proud members of the fighting unit that enticed Kyrie and KD so much, Allen, LeVert and Kurucs are now on different teams. While LeVert probably received a blessing in disguise, having been diagnosed with a kidney problem in his medical, Allen might have felt cavalierly about the whole deal.
Many thought he would be the center of the future for a prospective Nets dynasty. But that will not come to fruition now – Allen has been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the blockbuster James Harden deal.
It was a trade in the works since before the season had begun. But Harden’s statement following his final game with the Rockets led to events happening precipitously.
Jarrett Allen comments on the James Harden trade
Just like Jayson Tatum, who said he’d have traded himself for Anthony Davis, Jarrett Allen kept it absolutely real. He said he’d definitely pull the trigger on the deal if he were in Sean Marks’ place:
“In all honesty, I would say I would do it, I’m not going to lie. If you look at what happened with the Lakers, they did the same thing. They went and got their ring. If I take myself out of it, I would’ve loved to stay in Brooklyn, but I understand that in an opportunity like that, you have to go do it.”
“Me and Caris being traded I felt like being a part of the, I hate saying it like that, but being a part of the core in Brooklyn what people were calling us, it was definitely tough to see all of us — well, not all of us because Spencer (Dinwiddie)and Joe (Harris) are still there — having to break the core up, we both felt it,” Allen added.
