“Brandon Ingram watches more game film than anybody”: JJ Redick raves about Pelicans star and his love for studying the game
JJ Redick talks about Pelicans star Brandon Ingram and says that he watches more game film than anybody he’s ever played with.
Brandon Ingram was hyped as ‘the next Kevin Durant’ for his potential. The 6’7″ forward was first drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. During his time with the Lakers, Ingram was a solid player. But he never really took that leap that into stardom that was expected of him.
BI’s career took off once he got traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged 24 points in his first season with the Pels and made the All Star Game. Ingram became the focal point of the Pelicans offense over the course of the season.
Teammate and NBA veteran JJ Redick has had a front seat to watch Brandon Ingram develop into the number one option on a team.

When asked about the budding superstar, the sharpshooter had only words of kindness directed towards him. Redick said: “The guy watches more film than any player I’ve been around, except maybe Chris Paul.”
Being compared to Chris Paul in terms of knowledge of the game is a compliment in and of itself. JJ Redick has also been lobbying for Brandon Ingram to start averaging a triple double this season. Ingram has been working on his passing, averaging 5 assists a game.
His ex teammate Larry Nance Jr. said: “Ingram’s the hardest worker I’ve ever seen. The rest of us would get to practice and he’d already be drenched in sweat.”
