Third-year player Collin Sexton just had himself a career night after beating the Nets. The Nets who had three of the biggest megastars – Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden, lost their first game together.
The Cavaliers shocked the Nets 147-135 double-overtime blockbuster. Collin Sexton had a career-high in points scoring 42 points. He scored 20 straight points in the overtime itself, out of which 15 came in the second overtime.
The game had a lot of drama, passion and dedication shown. But it was the majestic performance by Sexton that helped the Cavaliers disappoint the stacked Brooklyn team. After the match, the former University of Alabama player Collin Sexton received high praises and validation from the Nets’ superstar Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Collin Sexton and the Cavs together managed to spoil the debut of the Nets’ new big three.
After the game, Cleveland Cavaliers head coach J B Bickestaff compared Sexton’s dominance in crunch time to that of one of the best basketball players to ever play the game, Michael Jordan.

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach went on to speak about Sexton and his offensive performance after the delightful win. Bickerstaff compared the nail-biting match to a playoff game.
Cleveland’s plan was to just put Sexton in a position where he could go and play a one-on-one basketball game. The plan ended up working as Sexton scored 11 straight points in a span of just 91 seconds.

Sexton, averaging 27 points per game this season, has led the Cavaliers team to a 7-7 record. The Cavaliers face the Nets again at the Quicken Loans Arena as their next match on the 23rd January.
