“Nets are better without Kyrie Irving”: NBA fans react to Collin Sexton beating Kevin Durant and co with 18 straight points for Cavs
Kyrie Irving made his comeback tonight against the team that drafted him – the Cavs. Collin Sexton, the player who replaced him, outshone everyone.
The Nets and Cavs played out one of the best games of the young season so far tonight. It was a mark of how good the competition was that it went to double overtime. However, Collin Sexton and the Cavs displayed their youthful energy with a surge in 2OT, taking the win.
CAVS BEAT THE NETS IN DOUBLE OT: 147-135

Cedi: 25 PTS, 7 REB, 7 ASTBrooklyn’s BIG 3
KD: 38 PTS, 12 REB, 8 AST
Kyrie: 37 PTS, 3 AST, 3 BLK

Sexton scored 18 consecutive points in OT1 and OT2 for the Cavs to effectively put the game away. He was taking and making shots with reckless abandon, and Kevin Love was all for it. Sexton’s humongous 42-point effort helped Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince spoil the Nets big 3’s first game together.
Kevin Love was all of us watching this Sexton masterclass 🤣

First Take headlines are about to be like “SHOULD THE NETS TRADE KYRIE IRVING?”

Fans react to fascinating duel between Collin Sexton and Kyrie Irving
The Nets had 2 players scoring almost 40 points each tonight. Kyrie and KD both shot over 50% from the field and 37% from 3, but the Nets gave up too much defensively. The Cavs had a well-balanced scoring effort all around, with everyone chipping in.
Despite Kyrie’s great game on offense, he still got flamed for his performances on the night. People seem to suggest he’s affecting the team by being on the floor.
So Kyrie comes back and this? No pressure.

So you mean to tell me the Nets have, KYRIE, HARDEN and KEVIN DURANT ….

Kevin Durant top scored for the Nets with 38 points on the night, and he continues to build his case as the MVP. Joel Embiid also put in a similar 40-point shift against the Celtics in a win tonight. This year’s MVP race could be really exciting.
