‘Miami Heat will not be a playoff team this year’: Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce makes bold statement about Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and co after loss to Clippers
Paul Pierce chimed in with a steaming hot take after the Miami Heat lost to the Clippers last night, saying they won’t make the playoffs.
We all enjoyed the Miami Heat’s Cinderella run to the NBA Finals, last season. Despite being doubted by many, they managed to make the improbable happen. They trounced the Bucks 4-1 before upstaging the higher-seeded Celtics 4-2 in the Conference Finals.
Paul Pierce stated on ‘The Jump’ that he didn’t think the Heat would not even be able to make the playoffs this year. He went on justify himself:
“As great as the Miami Heat were in the playoffs last year, they will not make the playoffs this year. And we saw a play earlier in the show where [Nikola] Jokic got the ball and threw it full court. That’s not the Miami Heat team we saw last year – full of grit, full of grind like the Memphis Grizzlies.”

Does Paul Pierce believe what he’s talking about the Miami Heat
One of the biggest flaws Paul Pierce cited with the Heat this season is their toughness. Pierce went on to say:
‘That team (last year’s Miami team) was built on hard work and toughness, and I have not seen that this year, and that’s why I don’t think they’ll make the playoffs.”
It is worth noting that the Heat have had their full complement of players for just 2 games out of 18. They won both of those games. The Heat have been forced into thrusting the ball into young Tyler Herro’s hands. It’s going to be a long season with many other teams going through similar patches.
January is way too early to rule out the reigning Eastern Conference champions from the playoffs. Once the Heat have all their players back, you can expect them to be another characteristic elite Pat Riley team.
