“It was f***ing boring” – Eric Bischoff says Hall of Famer was a failure as WWE Champion
Eric Bischoff says Hall of Famer was a failure as WWE Champion when compared to his peers at the time back in the day.
Eric Bischoff is not known to mince his word. The former WWE RAW manager was at it again when he called out WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart. He went so far as to call him a failure as WWE Champion. He admitted that the Hitman was a fantastic wrestler but claimed that he was boring to watch.

During his time in WCW, Bischoff poached Bret from the WWE. Bret would leave the WWE but has since criticized the manner in which his character was utilized by the promotion. He recently claimed that WCW “didn’t have anything for him.” Bischoff predictably refuted the claims on his 83 Weeks Podcast.
Eric Bischoff says Hall of Famer Bret Hart was a failure as WWE Champion
“There are a small percentage, a small percentage of people that live in this little five-star match bubble but 95% or at least, a vast majority of the audience, they want story, they want larger than life characters. They want to be entertained. And Bret Hart, as great as he was from a technical wrestling point of view, was like watching paint dry. It was f***ing boring.” Bischoff said.
“The numbers back it up, you know. Bret Hart, as a WWE World Champion was probably when compared to many of his peers during that time, a failure. A miserable failure.” He continued.
Bischoff went on to claim that Bret Hart was frustrated because he couldn’t live up to his aspirations of becoming a superstar among superstars.
“But as a point of fact, go back and look at the revenues for WWE with Bret Hart as champion, and you’ll know why Bret Hart is such a frustrated, negative, miserable individual because he couldn’t live up to his own aspirations to not only be the greatest of all Canadian heroes but to be considered a legitimate WWE superstar amongst superstars.” Bischoff stated. “He’s not, and he never will be.”
