“Guarding Anthony Davis is easier than playing FIFA”: Joel Embiid’s hilarious answer to whether the Sixers star finds it easier to win on FUT champs or stifle the Lakers star
Joel Embiid never misses an opportunity to trash talk his opponents. He sent a well-aimed stray the way of Lakers star Anthony Davis last night.
The Lakers beat the Celtics at the TD Garden on the back of a strong double-double from AD. Davis had himself 27 points and 12 rebounds, taking full advantage of the undersized Celtics defense. There were points when he was the only consistent source of offence for the reigning champions.
LeBron James and co looked set to blow their 3rd straight close game, judging by the way their final possession of the game went. A crucial intervention from Alex Caruso prevented Jaylen Brown from having an easy layup in transition. This turnover was generated by Kemba Walker off Anthony Davis.
Joel Embiid dominated his last matchup with the Lakers big man. He led the Sixers to a 107-106 win while tallying 28 points on that night.
Joel Embiid answers tough question regarding Anthony Davis and FIFA
During an interview on live stream, Embiid was asked to rate how hard it was to win on the FUT champs mode. He opined that it is undoubtedly very tough to win in that game mode.
Embiid was then handed a slam dunk on a silver platter with this question: “What’s more difficult, playing FUT champs or guarding AD?”
A seasoned trash talker who likes to keep his energy going, the odds on him answering with the latter choice were slim to none. He didn’t surprise us at all when he picked playing FIFA on FUT champs mode as the tougher task.

AD has been on a steady slide over the course of this season. He hasn’t really strung together a dominant run of games despite getting license from the team to go all-out. The Lakers big man will likely miss the All-NBA First Team this year. If he’s not careful, he might even end up on the 3rd team instead.
