“I know Carlos will be there for a few years” – Antonio Giovinazzi not giving up on his dream to race for Ferrari
“I know Carlos will be there for a few years” – Antonio Giovinazzi has not given up on his dream to race for Ferrari, as he focused on an improved season with partner Alfa Romeo.
Antonio Giovinazzi was snubbed by Ferrari for their seven-driver Fiorina test with their 2018 car. The seven drivers were Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Mick Schumacher, Callum Ilott, Robert Shwartzman, Marcus Armstrong, and Giuliano Alesi. This hasn’t deterred Giovinazzi, who is just focusing on himself, as per Crash.net
“For now, I don’t focus on other people. I’m focused on myself. This is what we always do and I try to improve myself and then we will see what will happen. To focus on other drivers is not something that will make me better, so I just focus on myself.”

Carlos Sainz favored over Antonio Giovinazzi for Ferrari seat
After the Ferrari management decided to let go of Sebastian Vettel, they straightaway swooped for Carlos Sainz of McLaren. This disappointed Giovinazzi, who still dreams of racing for the most iconic team in Formula 1. This season, he will look to impress the men who matter by doing well with Alfa Romeo with his partner Kimi Raikkonen, the last Ferrari world champion.
“It’s the dream [to drive for Ferrari] but of course I know Carlos will be there for a few years, and as well Charles. I’m part of that family as well and it’s great to feel the support from Ferrari.
“You never know what will happen, so for now I’m focused on doing well at Alfa Romeo. I know I will be driving for Alfa Romeo this season and my target now is to do well with them, and then we will see what will happen in 2022. I want to do the best job for Alfa Romeo. I’m sure I’m doing a good job here and then we will see what the future will bring.”
