“What have we done right? We survived!” – Guenther Steiner on the significance of Haas to Formula 1
“What have we done right? We survived!” – Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has spoken on the significance of his team to Formula 1, after barely surviving last season.
Haas boss Guenther Steiner was asked about the high points for Haas last season. He answered it back in trademark fashion, as per GP Fans. More than them earning a few points, he stressed the fact that the team survived in the sport. This was a major concerning point for teams like Williams and McLaren too, in the wake of Covid-19.
“What have we done right? We survived! That is what we have done right. I think there was a big chance that we were not here anymore but I think everybody pulled together and we are here to stay.
“I think, all in all, maybe we haven’t been good at the track but I think we have been good for the future of Haas F1 and for Formula 1. I think, as much as we think they don’t need us, I think Formula 1 needs teams like Haas F1.”

Guenther Steiner pays tribute to Romain Grosjean
Haas has replaced Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen with Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin this season. Grosjean and Magnussen were able partners, and their ex-boss has spoken highly of the former, who is now a veteran of the sport.
“I think we have to thank him as well for what he did for us. He believed in us at the beginning.
“He was with us five years which showed we believed in him because we could have let him go after three years, after four years and we kept him because sometimes he can be Romain. He is tough to manage but otherwise, he was a great asset to the team.
“I think he will go into history with Haas F1. He is a big part of it forever.”
