“Paul George, you’re not a top shelf player”: Shannon Sharpe puts Clippers star on blast for believing he’s as good as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry

Shannon Sharpe says that there are many players in the NBA who have an issue with Paul George viewing himself in the same category as MVPs.

After an abysmal outing in last season’s playoffs, Paul George seems to have decided to enact his own redemption tour. He’s been balling out this regular season, averaging 24.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.

He has recently made the tabloids following Jared Dudley’s book’s release. In the book, Dudley chronicled how the Lakers felt in the Bubble about Playoff P putting himself up there with the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This reportedly fueled a fire within the Lakers to become even more motivated to win it all.

Shannon Sharpe took to his show Undisputed to talk about Paul George’s mentality when it comes to his play compared to other superstars around the league.

On Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe told Skip Bayless that it’s quite strange that Paul George continues to put himself up there with the upper echelon of NBA players when he hasn’t proven anything.

“We never saw this in Indiana, we never saw this in OKC. I’m not saying Paul George shouldn’t view himself in this way. But he’s viewing himself as a LeBron or a KD or a Kawhi. Those guys have either won regular season MVPs or Finals MVPs. These guys are top shelf and you’re not on that shelf PG.”

The way Paul George views himself and the way players around the league view Paul is totally different.

There is nothing wrong in being confident in your abilities as a player. George is as talented as almost any of the top guys around the league. However, in terms of historical accomplishments, he hasn’t done anything much, other than making a couple of All-Star teams and All-NBA teams.

Pandemic P needs to prove that he can step it up when it matters most, in the postseason. Only then can he be revered as a player in that same category as the one mentioned by Sharpe.
