‘Thinking of what dunk to do’: Donovan Mitchell hilariously defends himself after missing a wide-open dunk in Jazz’s win over the Hawks
Donovan Mitchell had a humongous Shaqtin’-A-Fool moment against the Hawks on Thursday night, missing a wide-open dunk.
There’s no easier shot than a player getting the whole frontcourt empty on a fast break. The combo guard is a former Slam Dunk Contest champion, and easily one of the most electrifying dunkers in the league today.
Early in the first quarter, Derrick Favors stole the ball and passed it ahead to Mitchell. Bogdanovic was also ahead with Mitchell, who turned back to run for defense. But he was wrong. What could’ve been Mitchell’s easiest two points, turned out to be a blooper.
The All-Star had to immediately defend himself after having an embarrassing miss. He took it to Twitter and wrote:
‘Thinking of what dunk to do….’

‘Donovan Mitchell and his Jazz are the hottest team’: The Jazz have the best record in the league
Despite the open dunk miss, Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz managed to defeat the Hawks 112-91. There wasn’t a lot required from Jazz’s starters. Mitchell finished the game with 18 points and 5 assists, whereas Clarkson continued his great form with 23 points in 25 minutes.
Donovan Mitchell and big-man Rudy Gobert have done a great job leading the team. The Utah Jazz are currently the hottest team in the league. They have the best record with 17 wins and only 5 losses.
Ever since Donovan Mitchell had the awkward interaction with Shaq, Mitchell has made it a point to prove it to everyone that he is someone who can lead a team to success. Mitchell has been averaging 23.3 points, 4.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game this season. The 6-foot guard also finished 5th in the All-Star voting released by the NBA with 236,850 votes.
Although the team is playing really well, it is early in the season. The team has to keep up with the consistency and play great basketball like they’ve been doing. This season, they definitely have the potential to finish the league with the best record.
