“Nonsense stories”- Lewis Hamilton never made unrealistic demands says Toto Wolff
“Nonsense stories”- Toto Wolff rejects that Lewis Hamilton ever asked for a share in TV revenue made by Mercedes or teammate veto.
Lewis Hamilton has finally signed a contract extension with Mercedes. As the saying goes, it’s better late than never. However, amidst the tiring affair of finalizing the deal, Hamilton was repeatedly insulted by Former F1 team bosses and experts.
Hamilton’s reports having unrealistic demands even made a few blast him and advised Mercedes to give him an ultimatum. But, in contrast, Toto Wolff has now claimed that the Briton never made an unrealistic demand.
“I’ve heard some nonsense stories about Lewis asking for a share in TV revenue or a veto on teammates. That was not discussed at all. We agreed on the most important terms already at the beginning of this year. The contract was signed last week.” said Toto Wolff, as per auto motor und sport journalist Tobi Gruner.

Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton pledge to increase diversity
One of the most interesting points from Mercedes’ press release in Hamilton’s contract extension announcement, it was claimed that Mercedes would advocate for the increase in diversity in the sport.
It has been reported that Hamilton personally pushed for this, the movement last year pushed by the Briton was on the grounds of adding people of colour in F1.
Hamilton is the only black driver on the grid, and possibly the only one to ever drive in F1 history. According to Hamilton, the cost of becoming an F1 driver never lets people of colour, who many times are not as a privilege to sponsor their own training in the sport and have to take the exit door.
Moreover, he has also stated that the sport being a prerogative to a particular section of society has also drawn several instances of racism against him across his career.
