“Utah Jazz are the best team in the Western Conference”: Giannis Antetokounmpo snubs LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers for the title of ‘best in the West’

Giannis Antetokounmpo says that the Utah Jazz are the best team in the Western Conference; disregards both Los Angeles teams. 

The Utah Jazz got off to a slow start to the season but have really picked it up following the new year. They have won 17 of their last 18 games and currently reside at the top of the standings with a 21-5 record.

Their 21st win came against Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks last night as they made short work of the reigning MVP’s squad, besting them 129-115.

The Jazz are closely followed by the defending champs Los Angeles Lakers who boast a 21-6 record. Following the loss to the Jazz, Giannis took to his postgame media session to rave about how good the Utah Jazz are.

Giannis kept it short and sweet when it came to praising the Jazz on their commendable season. “They’re the best team in the West. They’re playing amazing, making their threes, finding their rollers, and keeping it simple.” 

Though the Jazz boast the best record in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers are merely 0.5 games back from tying the Jazz’s record. The Jazz are definitely one of the best teams in the league however, regular season success doesn’t always translate to a deep postseason run.

The Milwaukee Bucks had the best regular-season record last season, but were eliminated in the 2nd round as the Miami Heat made short work of them. Nevertheless, the Jazz deserve credit for being able to string together as many wins as they have, beating some of the best teams in the league. 

Utah definitely deserves to have multiple All-Star nods on their team. ESPN’s Kevin Arnovitz said that he’ll go as far as putting Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, and Mike Conley on his All-Star ballot.
