"Washed King is starting to catch up with me": Richard Jefferson absolutely bodies LeBron James for missing a dunk in the Lakers' win over Ja Morant's Grizzlies last night

LeBron James had a great second half in the Lakers’ win last night. That did not prevent Richard Jefferson roasting him for a missed dunk.

Richard Jefferson has transitioned seamlessly from an elite NBA glue guy to an elite color commentator. Few commentators today know James as well as RJ did during his years with the Cavs. Jefferson has all the inside scoops one can dream of, and nobody’s funnier at telling those stories.

Jefferson also has this amazing comic timing that can catch anyone off-guard. LeBron was on the receiving end of one of his burns last night – just look at this absolutely glorious exchange between two championship teammates!

RJ: “I wanna know, you’ve been missing quite a few dunks lately. Is everything okay?”

There may be reasons to hate LeBron James, but being unsporting is definitely not one of them. The Lakers superstar gave us all another great meme moment with a hearty laugh that was perfect for the cameras. He then replied,

“I don’t know RJ, I really don’t know, man. I hope everything is okay man, I think Washing King is really starting to catch up with me.”

RJ: “Yeah, you know what’s crazy is that I can’t even say anything critical because then my mentions just go through the roof.”

Jefferson quickly moved on to the Lakers’ defensive struggles in the first quarter, noting how they’ve given up early leads in all of their recent games. LeBron acknowledged that as another of the Lakers’ weaknesses, going on to state that they needed to start games better.

Overall, it was still a strong performance from the Lakers, given how they came away with a 30-point differential from a woeful 22-2 start to the game.
