“I would do a shoey”- Lando Norris agrees to celebrate like Daniel Ricciardo but on two conditions
“I would do a shoey”- Lando Norris is ready to celebrate like his new teammate Daniel Ricciardo but has two conditions before it.
Daniel Ricciardo finally got to do a shoey in 2020 even though he stood on the podium twice and forgot to do it on the first occasion. And hopefully, he never forgets it; even if the idea behind it looks gross, it is still a wholesome sight.
Lando Norris, who would be pairing with the Australian, has been convinced to do a shoey in 2021 if he stands on the podium, but he has two conditions before it.
“I would do a shoey, yeah. But I don’t think I’d do it from his shoe, Danny’s shoe,” he said. “If I’m on the podium and Danny’s not, I wouldn’t do a shoey. Only if we are both on the podium would I do a shoey.”
However, the 20-year-old believes that it would take a mammoth effort to see two McLaren cars on the podium at the same time, “Trust me, we’ve got some work to do before we are both on the podium.”
McLaren is excited for 2021
On paper, everything looks promising for McLaren, with a new power unit and a more experienced driver at their service, partnering with a young driver who has now two years of experience with the current setup.
McLaren couldn’t have asked for better when they stand against their midtable rivals. Their P3 finish last year was an impressive feat, and they would be hoping to achieve it once again.
However, their main priority is to close the gap against the table leaders, which would eventually deliver consistent and stable results in 2021 for the Briton team.
Now, it only remains to be seen how this setup for Mclaren fares this year, as they aim for big.
