“I know it’s a tough place to be, Alex Caruso”: Richard Jefferson taunts Lakers guard for missing an open jumper off a LeBron James feed to beat the Heat
‘It’s a tough place to be’: Richard Jefferson trolls Lakers guard Alex Caruso for missing a game-tying jumper off a LeBron James assist.
The past couple of games have been tough for the defending champions. Anthony Davis is out of action for 4 weeks at least, with a return date after the All-Star weekend.
On Saturday night, the Lakers suffered a tough loss against a Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat. With a score of 96-94, Alex Caruso had almost 2 seconds to shot the ball at the buzzer to send the game into overtime or win it.
The 6-foot-4 Caruso missed the shot at the buzzer and immediately showed a disheartened face. To this, LeBron’s former teammate Richard Jefferson trolled Caruso with an Instagram post which said:
“It’s a dark and lonely place when you miss the game-winner.”

‘I was probably a little caught off guard’: Alex Caruso opens up about the last play against the Heat
It is a tough shot for anyone to take with such little time. It is a more pressure shot when you know that King James has passed you the ball to shot in the last possession of the intense match. After the loss, Alex Caruso gave his thoughts on the last play:
“I brought it (ball) down. Three guys on the left, saw Bron on the right. Tried to set it up, go left and give it to him (James) and get out of his way. I think I accidentally brought in extra help instead of probably cutting the opposite side, he made the right play and two guys on him.”
“I was probably a little caught off guard because I was expecting them to stay with me and go one-on-one with Bron. So I was a little late to get ready and then just missed a shot.”

The Lakers have admitted that they have been putting too much on LeBron James’ shoulders in AD’s absence. LeBron James has embraced it as yet another challenge for the 36-year-old.
The Lakers are placed second across the NBA, playing in a tough Western Conference. The defending NBA champs have a 22-9 record, behind only the red hot Utah Jazz.
