“Jimmy Butler is One of the Most Unselfish Stars!”: Despite Winning a Championship With Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry Ranks 6x All-Star Higher
The Miami Heat continue their magical run in the 2023 Playoffs. After taking down the Bucks and the Knicks, the Heat have their sight set on the Celtics now. Jimmy Butler and co. made their way to Boston and took Game 1, thanks to a very special team effort. After the game, Kyle Lowry could not stop praising the Heat superstar. He even went as far as to call Butler one of the most unselfish stars he’s played with.
Over the course of his career, Lowry has played with some big stars, including the likes of Kawhi Leonard. The duo even won a championship together in Toronto. However, what he sees from Jimmy Butler is something totally different from what Lowry had experienced before.

The Boston Celtics started the game strong, and it looked like they had a strong grip towards the end of the 1st quarter. However, Kyle Lowry came off the bench and provided a spark, and helped the Heat stay within striking distance. After that, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler took over, helping Heat draw the first blood in the series.
After the game, Lowry joined the Inside the NBA crew. Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson were talking to Lowry about the Game 1 win. There he discussed coming off the bench, and of course, Jimmy Butler. Talking about Jimmy, Lowry said,
“You guys watch Jimmy Butler play. He’s one of the most unselfish stars that I’ve ever been around.”

Lowry was then asked about how the Heat deal with the constant odds being against them, especially by the Las Vegas books and others. He responded and said,
“We’re aware of it, and we just don’t care. That’s just how we’ve been operating this whole Playoff run. I know we’re an 8th seed, but we’re not a typical 8th seed. We go out there and do our jobs as we’re prepared. Coach prepares us… We just work. We work no matter what.”

Kyle Lowry showers ultimate praise on Butler
Lowry has been in the league for 17 seasons. Over that time, he’s seen many great players and played with a few of them as well. He’s seen greatness and witnessed it in the form of different players over the years. However, what Jimmy Butler is doing in Miami, especially in the Playoffs, is special.
After the game, Lowry was asked about Butler’s Playoff run. He responded and said,
“It’s fun, it’s amazing. I don’t know how long he’s been on this run for, but that’s what he does. He’s one of the best players in the world for a reason.”
