“Nothing was directed at her”: Meek Mill has apologized to Vanessa Bryant in private for quoting Kobe Bryant on ‘Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe)’
Meek Mill says his tweet yesterday about ‘not giving a s**t’ was not directed at Vanessa Bryant. He also says he apologized to her in private.
Mill’s most recent single ‘Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe)’ includes a section that has triggered some disgruntled reactions among Kobe fans. They lyrics go like this:
“This b*tch I’m f**king always telling me that she love but she ain’t ever showed me
Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m going out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”

Meek was reprimanded by Vanessa Bryant in a crisp statement for using the death of Kobe Bryant in this fashion:
“Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this.”
“If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”
Meek Mill says he’s apologized about using Kobe’s death to his widow Vanessa Bryant
Meek Mill made the following statement on his Twitter regarding the whole song saga. He said nothing, however, about his thoughts on his own actions in writing the song in the first place:
“I apologized to her in private earlier today not to the public…Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman! If you care about someone grieving change the subject!”
