Zach LaVine gets surprised by his parents and close friends who proceed to congratulate him on receiving his first ever All-Star nod. 

Being named an All-Star for the first time in your career is definitely a moment that calls for celebration. Having your talent recognized by players, coaches, the media, and fans across the globe is certainly an achievement that all players in the NBA dream to acquire. 

A multitude of players have been chosen to represent their respective conferences as an All-Star this 2020-21 season. Guys like Jaylen Brown, Julius Randle, and Zion Williamson have all received their first ever All-Star nod.

Zach LaVine is amongst this lot of players as he has also been selected to his first All-Star Game and in a wholesome moment, was surprised by his parents through the guise of a media conference.

The Chicago Bulls organization made sure that they congratulated the first time All-Star the right way as they orchestrated a supposed media conference for LaVine. However, in reality, it was a virtual meeting between Zach’s parents and his closest friends who wanted to congratulate him on his accomplishment. 

He thought he was doing a media call.

Zach LaVine has taken to social media several times to showcase his summer workouts with his dad. Most players work on their conditioning and skills in state-of-the-art facilities but LaVine’s approach was a bit different. He would work on his skills with father Paul LaVine outdoors, the old-fashioned way. 

Though the Bulls aren’t quite at the top of the standings, LaVine has showed up and showed out this season. He’s leading the Bulls in scoring at 28.6 points per game while also boasting the best field goal percentage of his career at 52%. He has also shown his ability to facilitate as he is racking up the most assists per game he’s ever had in previous seasons at 5.1
