“Mavericks made a bad business decision”: Seth Curry opens up about the Mavs trading him to the 76ers and how it felt to play against Luka Doncic and co

Seth Curry says that the Mavericks made a bad business decision when they traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers, given his play this year. 

Following their Game 7 loss to Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors in the 2019 ECSF, the 76ers looked prime to take that extra leap forward to hopefully make it to the ECF or even better, the promised land.

However, after some major roster changes, the 76ers took several steps back and suffered a first-round sweep at the hands of the Boston Celtics.

The Sixers decided to undergo yet another roster shakeup and got rid of guys like Al Horford and Josh Richardson. They introduced excellent complementary pieces like Danny Green and Dwight Howard into the mix.

Perhaps the biggest addition to the 76ers this offseason would have to be Seth Curry from the Mavericks. 

How Seth Curry has meshed with Philadelphia

The Sixers brought Seth Curry on board while trading away Josh Richardson to the Dallas Mavericks. Richardson was lauded as being a lockdown perimeter defender while also being able to create his own shot on the offensive end of the floor; a poor man’s Jimmy Butler in a way. Though he does help the Mavericks defense, he has not lived up to what he was built up to be.

Philly on the other hand, is thriving with Seth Curry on their roster. The former Duke Blue Devil has been shooting lights out ever since he stepped foot in Philadelphia and is on pace to become a member of a club that he will solely be a part of: the 50-50-100 club. 

When going up against his former squad, the Dallas Mavericks, Seth aired out his feelings towards facing Luka Doncic and co. “I just think they made a bad business decision,” said Seth in regards to how he felt about the Mavs trading him away. 

Seth Curry says there’s nothing personal with playing the Mavericks, the team that traded him to Philly in the offseason, tonight. “I just think they made a bad business decision.” Said he enjoyed seeing his former coaches and teammates.

He did, however, express excitement in being able to meet his former teammates who he had grown close to over the one season he spent with them. He had also had a short stint with the Mavericks earlier in his career in the 2016-17 season.
