“We’re craving for that”- Christian Horner wants Red Bull to take on Lewis Hamilton
“We’re craving for that”- Christian Horner wants Red Bull to challenge Lewis Hamilton in 2021, as the reigning champion is still in form.
Lewis Hamilton has printed his name among the all-time greats with his total of seven title wins in Formula 1, and in 2021, he is set to challenge for the 8th career title.
And with this, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner wants his duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez to take on the reigning champion this year.
“I mean Lewis.. what he’s achieved now! Sir Lewis, of course, has achieved so much, and you know seven world titles is truly, truly impressive. And he’s gonna be pumped up and going for that record-breaking eighth title,” he said to the Skysports.
“I really hope our guys can take the fight to him this year. I think we’re craving for that, as I’m sure other fans in Formula One are. There’s a fight for this year’s Championship, and Lewis is in formidable form. He’s at the top of his game and will be extremely hard to beat this year.”
It’s Red Bull Vs Mercedes only
Like last year, Mercedes has only one challenger: Red Bull, but the latter still carry a huge deficit against the Brackley-based team. Ferrari is still unlikely to challenge for the top two spots.
Red Bull’s one of the biggest giveaways to Mercedes every year is the slow start. The Milton Keynes based team is a late bloomer in the sport, and they eventually showcased their actual potential of 2020 by the end of the season, where Verstappen cruised away with the win in Abu Dhabi.
With Sergio Perez in the setup, Red Bull has a mature and experienced driver who is known for making the most out of his limited resources, as observed with his prolonged stint with Force India/Racing Point.
