“Going large”: Cameron Green smashes three consecutive sixes off Travis Head in Marsh Cup 2021
Cameron Green smashes: The all-rounder from Western Australia showed no mercy against the opposition’s captain at the WACA.
During the third match of the ongoing 52nd season of the Marsh Cup between Western Australia and South Australia in Perth, Western Australia all-rounder Cameron Green thwacked his maiden List A century to power his team to 369/5 in 50 overs.
Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 20th over, Green stitched a 156-run partnership for the third wicket alongside captain Shaun Marsh (113) before being part of a quickfire 88-run partnership with wicket-keeper batsman Josh Inglis (28).
In what was doubtlessly his career-best List A innings, Green went to score 144 (101) with the help of 16 fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 142.57 before becoming South Australia pacer Wes Agar’s only wicket today.
While Green never appeared to be not finding runs in the middle, a couple of phases of his innings found the opposition bowlers short of answers.
It was in the 34th over when Green hit South Australia captain Travis Head for three consecutive sixes on the leg-side. While the first two were authoritative slogs towards the deep mid-wicket region, the last one came over deep square leg off a rank short delivery. Green then dominated South Australia pacer Daniel Worrall hitting him for five consecutive boundaries in the 47th over.
Worrall, however, was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors with bowling figures of 10-2-62-2. Head, who had earlier won the toss and invited the hosts in to bat, would have expected a better bowling performance from his bowlers.

How Twitterati reacted:
The good news for Dan Worrall is the final ball of this over did not go for four.
The bad news is Cameron Green hit the other five balls for four 😳 #MarshCup pic.twitter.com/tdBLkKAAYD
